Playback Engine Anomaly

Yesterday PT 7.4cs3 decided to work only partially (Mac OS 10.4.9, HD3 Accel, Dual G5 2.5, 3.5GB RAM). After installing MusicLab's MolCp3 version 3.2.4, the playback engine keeps demanding more memory to be able to use 144-196 voices on 6 dsps. So, I OK the dialog box and it tells me that changes will take effect after restart. I restart and, upon next PT launch, the playback engine reports the same exact memory message. I can only make it work with voice selections that don't utilize more than 125MB system memory. I have trashed the prefs and repaired permissions. Any clue?

you need to uninstall (clean not safe) then reinstall 7.4

As mentioned by craig above, Digi have identified this problem and the only fix for now is to re-install PT.

You can use this free app to save all your prefs/settings which might help if you have a complex hardware setup etc...

Thank you, guys! Reinstalling worked, of course. Yes, I do have the Helper app. As the name implies, it does help. I'm very grateful!
