Cool Wav to Mp3 for very long pod casts about 2ter of audio

I need to convert from wav to mp3 (very long dial) would like to batch but don't have to.
My ? is is the PT option any good??
and is there anything out there for Mac better?

Go Blue Devils! Now that WaveLab is Mac-compatible, look into that. The stripped version(at $99) may be just the ticket, and it does a lot more than that for sure. I've been a Wavelab user(on PC) for several years

+1 for iTunes. Some people say iTunes conversion doesn't sound good, but I've tested it against other programs many times. The only problem with it is that the default settings aren't always optimized for pro use. Try it out on a brief but telling excerpt of your audio and play with the settings until you get the best results at the desired bit rate. It will sound as good as anything, and better than some. Like Peak. Anything but Peak for mp3s!

Pro Tools would be a supremely awkward WAV-mp3 converter. For one thing, if they're stereo mixes, PT would have to convert them to split mono, then you'd have to bounce each one down to mp3 in real time.
