Default Onboard video/sound a critical thing, or not???

I'm buying a computer system to run a Digi002, and am wondering how important the graphics and sound issues are to the system. Is it a problem to use onboard graphics and video, or will it hamper system performance? Should I invest in decent/good cards? Also, the difference between agp and pci; both work, but which is better?

Many thanks,
Dave

No, it won't do much for your system performance but read the next reply.

I'd stay away from pci since your pci bus can max out if your using other cards. Stick with agp/pci-x. Onboard video seems to be working fine for lots of people. Working fine for myself on my laptop too.

if possible stay away from onboard video
PCI AGPis still your best bet for stability but PCI-e seems fine aswell. stay away from PCI video.
PCI-X is NOT the same as PCI-e, technician you need to do your homework.

onboard sound doesnt matter as you wont be using it for ProTools
