Default In big need of help! ( Pro tools 8.0.2 )

Hey!
Yesterday i went to a music-store and bought a Pro Tools Recording Studio, Fast track to be able to record my guitar.
When i got home i followed the instructions and installed fast track drivers etc, and then installed my M-Powered Essential. When i installed the essential i got a message regarding some error or such with iLok. I continued the install and then i could hear my guitar in the essential.
The problem is that i can't record? As i see it is like a "demo" and many functions is disabled in the upper fly-out menu.
I have done some searching and cant get it with the "iLok",do i need to buy one or what? Would really love to get some help from you guys!
I'm running Windows XP (SP3).
I have tried download iLok drivers and updated my essential,but doesnt work,its still a "demo".

Thanks // Delphii

Hello Delphii,
So are you on Essential 8.0.3 now?
You don't need an iLok for Essential.
Essential doesn't have a demo mode.
What are you seeing that looks like a demo mode?

Q: What are the feature/limitations of Essential vs M-Powered?
A: Pro Tools M-Powered Essential provides:

* 16 stereo/mono audio tracks
* 2 simultaneous audio inputs and 2 simultaneous audio outputs
* 8 Instrument Tracks
* 8 MIDI tracks
* 3 Effect Insert slots per track for up to 3 simultaneous effects
* Effects collection including reverb, chorus, delay, flanger, phaser, compression, and EQ
* Busses for group mixes/effect sends and Aux Tracks for effect returns
* Over 60 virtual instrument sounds from piano and strings, to bass and drums

Q: Can I add any additional instrument plug-ins or effects to Pro Tools M-Powered Essential?
A: No, Pro Tools M-Powered Essential is limited to the included instruments and effects. If you wish to install any additional Digidesign or 3rd party plug-ins, you must purchase the full version of Pro Tools M-Powered.
