Default Anyone using Filter bank-Compressor bank

I am considering buying Filter bank and compressor bank for my set up, or upgrading to the Waves Gold bundle. I need some good plugins that are easy on the CPU.
Thanks, Chad

The "bank" stuff is great. However I seem to reach for the waves stuff first.
I dont have the waves at my home studio so, I use the "bank" stuff alot. I still prefer the waves. The Waves uses more CPU power than the others.

McDSP RULES:

They can be a little "learning-curvey" but when you have used them a while, you wil not regret it:

Low(est) on CPU use
Sound terriffic
"The pro’s" say they’re quality
They can be configured to excactly what you need at the moment (also prserving cpu)
Very detailed control
Buy them!

Filter bank, yesss. Q10 is allright but sounds duller.(in my opinion of course)I achieve more easily my goal with them than waves. I think once you will work with FB you won't go back to waves.
I also like the features on the compressor bank, although, Renaissance comp. is also a really good comp. The waves bundle has a lot more than just comp. and eq. btw.

It seems I always reach for the Compressorbank before the Renaissance Comp. However, I do use the C1 whenever I want something a little more transparent than either.

The CompBank is much easier on the CPU than RenComp.

I would probably go for the filterbank, but I already own the gold bundle, so I use RenEQ or Q4 a lot.

I've got FilterBank, CompressorBank and Analog Channel and I must say that I am completely happy with all of them. The most definitive way of making your own choices is to simply try the demo versions of the various contenders. I was all hyped on Channel Strip, it looked so cool, until I tried the McDsp stuff after and it was hands down and no turning back for me.

The McDsp stuff isn't as sexy looking and is indeed more complicated to fully maximize however sound should be the only real determing factor in what you use, shouldn't it? The presets will give you a very good starting point in terms of being able to get results form the McDsp products immediately. The crazy amount of control and possibilities shouldn't be considered a negative but rather an incentive to experiment and to develop better engineering chops. Just my opinion. Good Luck!

Thanks for the opinions on filter bank. It sounds like they are pretty impressive plug-ins, I'll most likely buy them.

Thanks, Chad
