BUG:Pro Tools still disconnecting from instruments on load

I think this bug is now at least 10 to 12 years old .

PTUltimate - latest version.

New song with some audio tracks & instances of Expand II.

About half the times I load the session, one of the expand midi parts is greyed out, & I either have to manually reconnect it to the instrument again , or move the plugin in the insert slot.

How is this still a thing?

Ah. I see what you mean - Instrument tracks occasionally lose their MIDI Output selection when opening a session.

It's irritating, for sure, though not terribly common. It happens for me only when I make an instrument track inactive, close the session, reopen it, and reactivate the track. That happens mostly with large templates. For example, I customized the Spitfire BBCSO template by adding ew piano, cymbals, and timpani rolls. Those instances of Play often lose their MIDI Output selection when making a new session from the template, but the BBCSO instances never do.

I don't remember it ever happening with Xpand II, either. Apart from ew Play, I think it might have cropped up with Arturia synth models, but that's it.

All the time... I duplicate the track so it reconnects and delete the original. Messy, but works if you are in a hurry.

This is STILL happening for me on Pro Tools 2022.6. AVID, please fix this, it's a nightmare!
