Default Waves TrueVerb

How is the Waves TrueVerb? I have no idea. It's on sale for some really cheap price today only. (Up on Audio Delux now)

So, anyone have any thing good or bad to say? I have the NI Komplete and Softube's TSAR-1 pair along with some convolution reverb somewhere in the pile of goodies I have. I hate to pass up a great price on a great plug, but want to make sure it's indeed, a decent plug.

I like the True Verb.

Mainly because on the live Yamaha consoles that I cut my teeth on, we had the Waves expansion card which had True Verb and it was better than the stock reverb (though the Rev-X verb is pretty good also).

Anyway, I like it as a basic reverb, use it occasionally. But I have been using IRL and my Lexicon lately, and like Pheonix Verb also.

For $29, it's hard to pass up, it you don't have another reverb other than the stock D Verb.

One of the few handful of plugs that made their name in the 90's. A wonderful and simple plug. One of the oldest and greatest digital plugs "combining reverb and an early reflections simulator creating extraordinarily natural-sounding virtual acoustic spaces." At $29, it's a no-brainer!

As good as that deal is, in my opinion, you're better off waiting until one of their cheap bundles goes on sale that has Trueverb in it..

For example, Native Power Pack many times goes on sale for around $130, and it contains Trueverb, plus 9 other plugins. It's also in Silver, which is also cheap when it's on sale.

So it may seem cheap at $29, but can end up being cheaper as part of a cheap bundle.

Either way, it's a nice reverb.

Second problem with this, of course, is Waves crashing some (most?) computers with multi-monitor setups. A well-documented problem that they would rather have us disable all but one monitor than write software for contemporary setups.

Thanks for the insights and opinions, folks. Just trying to balance the too-many-options thing with the don't-pass-up-the-good-deal thing.

I don't have the 224, but I have what I think is Native Instrument's knock off of it. I was sitting here thinking after I saw your post that I might be better served to learn more of all the things that this one can do with what I have instead of slapping another 'verb into my folder to give a half-ass attempt at learning.

Don't get me wrong, I love my toys. Enough is enough. I'll see what bundles are on super duper black cyber Monday weekend thing. :)

I did get the Doubler over the weekend. I went ahead and got the musicians 1 bundle with the Doubler, guitar and vocal secret sauce plugs, the flanger and the multi-tap.

Your absolutely right, I spend half of my time playing with my toys to get the most out of them.

I love the doubler
