levels not showing on pro tools 5.1.1

Hello There
I realise that this is an old system, but we are poor folk here. When I play my recorded tracks not sound comes out and no levels show on the track. recording on to the track is still fine, in fact everything looks reasonable except there is no audio or levels. My system is pro tools 5.1.1 with 882/20/I/O running on a mac OS. Any help gtratefully received.

Is the track still armed and the "record input only" is selected?

Do you have the proper outputs selected on the tracks?

Have you checked all your cables and connections? Reseated your cards? Trashed preferences?

If not, I would start with those things and then report back, giving as much specific info on your system as possible.

Hi...........go to your System Folder > Preferences and locate:

1. DAE Prefs 2. DIGI Setup 3. Pro Tools v5.1 Preferences

drag all 3 to the trash, empty the trash, restart your computer.......launch Pro Tools from the application....you'll have to reassign hardware in the Hardware Setup window.....also check the DAE Playback Buffer Size...(click upper right hand corner...applications)usually 4 works for most situations..if you change the DAE playback size, you'll have to restart again...open your session.....reset your preferences under the SETUPS menu.........hopefully this helps
