Warping track tempo to drums
Im a former Cubase user and a feature that I really liked with Cubase was the Warp Tempo feature.
So, I have a drum take that was NOT played to a click but it's quite good timing. I don't want to quantise the take to a fixed tempo but I do need to overlay some MIDI instruments. With Cubase this was very easy to do by dragging the bars and beats to the transients in the drum take. I have tried to use the beat detective feature but it just isn't giving me what I need. It does give me some accurate bar and beat markers at the beginning of the track but they tend to go off the beat in the middle and towards the end of the track. Any help and advice would be appreciated. |

Re: Warping track tempo to drums
I think what you want is Identify Beat. Check youtube for that, and "building a tempo map in Pro Tools". Maybe not as slick as Cubase, but does what you want(I think).
