Default DAE -6085 only with Strike

Hi there,

I've just purchased Strike and installed it a few day's ago. Since then I'm getting the famous DAE -6085 error. Never hat this error before. Tried to change the settings in Playback Engine but no luck thusfar. Could someone check the attached Sandra report please.
Also another weird pb arose.
1) Started a new session
2) Inserted Strike on an instrument track
3) Loaded a kit and Strike works fine........
Thusfar all seems to be fine with the session but as soon as I start hitting the spacebar or the play button on my Digi 003 F PT is not always responding and I have to keep hitting it till playing starts or stops. Once I remove strike from the instrument track this pb disappears.

What did I do till now:
I've a dedicated PC for PT only. No internet bla bla etc.. right!
I went through the Digi checklist. Network adapters and internal soundcard are disabled. Did the msconfig settings too etc etc. Ive also installed the following hotfixes:
KB914440 KB915865 KB921337 KB926239 KB896256 KB885222

Thanks guys for helping me out with this pb.

Dutchmountain.

Nobody ????

Why does it say MP Support NO under system? I definitely see 4 graphs in taskmanager.
Is there something wrong with the settings in the BIOS ?

Did you make sure to download the latest version of Strike? That should be your first troubleshooting step.

Thanks Spkguitar,

Yes I downloaded and installed Strike 101cs2 and double checked it by clicking on the name Strike in the plugin window. It says V 1.0.1 build 2816. As said before, Strike itself is working ok but it only causes PT to react unreliable when hitting the spacebar to play/stop. PT version is 7.4cs7

Keep in mind that this problem may have nothing at all to do with Strike. It might be a hardware compatibility problem that just wasn't apparent until you were taxing the hardware.

To which drive do you have the Strike content installed? You might also want to consider removing the flash drive temporarily until you are finished troubleshooting.

Via firewire controllers have been known to be incompatible with the Digidesign FW interfaces. You should consider getting one of the Digidesign Qualified Firewire interfaces. While it may have "worked before" it doesn't now, and that is one of the reasons why Digidesign has recommended/required hardware.

BTW, this;

refers to the fact that XP Home does not support multiple physical processors (physical CPU chips), and should work just fine with multiple core processors.

1) I just followed the default settings during installation c:\Programfiles\Digidesign\Strike

The flash drive just happened to be installed when running the Sandra report. I normally don't have it installed but thanks for the tip

2) I'll get one of the Digidesign approved FW cards

3) Thanks for the info. When running task mngr I can see 4 seperate graphs under performance so that's ok. Didn't know about XP Home...

Thanks a lot Spkguitar, I'll keep you posted when the new FW card is in.

Can't speak for the DAE -6085 error but that Play/Stop issue has been around for a while.

Hi SPKGuitar,

PROBLEMS SOLVED !!!!!!!!!!

It was difficult to get one of the "recommended" FW cards. Instead I've installed a FW-card with Texas Instrument chipset.
TI TSB43AB23 1394a-2000 OHCI PHY/link layer Controller.
NO MORE 6085 errors since 2 weeks. It's running absolutely perfect now.

p.s. I'm also using a new SHORT FW-cable of 5 ft instead of the 12 ft that came with my DIGI 003 Factory
