Default Hook up Digi 001 interface to laptop?

I have been an avid PT LE user for about 3 years now and only have used it on my desktop. Now I would like to use my laptop (IBM A21m) for portable sessions and I am wondering how to hook up my Digi 001 interface to the laptop. I'm sure that it is possible, but I don't know. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The problem is with the PCI-card. You can get an external PCI-box that connect to the PC via PCMCIA or cardbus or something like that. But if 2 in/2 out is enough for you, why not get an Mbox? Or trade in the 001 for a 002r? 002/002r connects via firewire.....

I'm curious to know how the hell you plan on using an IBM A21 with Pro-Tools. I say that considering that the IBM A21 uses either CELERON or P-III processors in the 400mHz to 600 mHz range. Will those work with Pro-Tools? If that's the case, what about this laptop? I was considering eBaying one of these:

Hello. In order for you to run a 001 on any laptop, you will need an expanssion chassis that will make the connection from the 001's PCI card to the laptop's PCMCIA cardbus slot, as Bastiaan mentioned above. You are looking at anywhere from $1800 to $2500 just on that alone. For that money you are much better off buying a 002 Rack for about $1100 to $1200, or if you use the 001 upgrade path, you can probably get the 002 Rack for about $600 to $800.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah you are right about the expansion card. I guess that I am going to have to upgrade to the 002. Thanks again.
