Default Future of Eleven rack firmware/ software updates?

I just want to ask or ponder over the possibility of Avid making new plugins that could be loadable into the eleven rack unit. As an example I am thinking of IK Multimedia's Amplitube. They are always coming out with new models and new effects. I think it would be pretty cool if Avid had something like that going for the eleven rack, even if they had to be purchased, which most likely would be the case, the option of being able to expand beyond the expansion pack one amp or pedal at a time would be really nice. If anyone knows about anything like this happening for the eleven rack or a good way to make lots of suggestions to Avid so that they could develop something like this please also comment and let me know what you think about this idea.

I don't think you'd see something like that on the current Eleven Rig, maybe a Eleven Rig v2, but just a guess that Avid aren't making anything like that either.

Your best bet, if you wan't those kind of options is to use a laptop running Amplitube and a pedal board to control it. Not a clean all in one solution though.

I agree 100% with Joel. I don't see much, if anything, new happening to the current Eleven Rack. This unit is what... about 6 years old now? That's ancient in terms of tech. However, the Eleven Rack has been amazing for me, and still is. I can still recommend it as an interface and a guitar effect processor as long as you are buying it for what it is now.

I have no idea if Avid plans on doing another Eleven Rack. I think Avid should buy Positive Grid and have them make a completely new Eleven Rack with a totally new approach. The BIAS Head looks pretty sweet.

I'm very happy with the 11R, as it is. It doesn't have nearly as many sims as a lot of other units, but what it does have, it does VERY well, IMO. I'm a metal guy, so I pretty much just need brutal and the occasional cleans and delays. It more than handles all those. For the price, it's hard to beat. I got mine, brand new, w/ expansion pack, for under $400.

That said, if they ever came out with another expansion for purchase, I'd surely buy. It seems popular enough that you'd think Avid would want to tap into that market. One of the 11R user groups on Facebook alone has over 1600 members, and that's probably a small percentage of 11R owners.

Avid should pull a "hooli" and buy the company where the original eleven rack developers currently work, and then task them with creating a eleven rack replacement.
