Default Any Of You Guys Using RECORDING lights?

Erickson Broadcast Service has website with some cool "RECORDING" lights, but from the description, they are supposed to get wired into your console so that when you hit "RECORD" the light goes on. I don't know if this can be done with a Control 24, but I got to wondering if there are any of you using a light similar to this and how you have it wired...thanks!

No USD.

Gotta do this with the Control 24 some way.

The Media thing they talk about in the thread looks a bit pricey and the record sign looks pretty cheesy.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I could have sworn that I have seen something like that that does work with PT but I can't remember where. I think it hooked up to the computer using a midi cable but I don't remember for sure. I will look around and see if I can tell you where I saw it.

I just made an interface for our HD rigs that fires off the record tally on the Sync I/O dsub. I don't have access to a Control 24, but one would 'think' there would be something similar available.

Do you mean the D-sub on the 192 that goes to the sync I/O? Can you post a schematic?

From the link I posted earlier in the thread http://www.mediaport.cz/indexpl.htm ... they have a MIDI device to do what you're talking about. Tom doesn't like their record light tho'.

You could assign one of the footswitch jacks to put the C/24 into record. So the solution might be to hook up a momentary switch to the footswitch jack and to the record light so that the switch would enable both simultaneously.

Unless you want to open up your C24 and attach some wires to the record bulb circuit.. which you could probably wire to a relay.. which could be a switch for the light.
