I'm with sdemott -running your audio off of the application drive is mostly THE issue here.You've got a G5 with Serial ATA (hard drive)capability! That second internal slot on your G5 is on its own separate "Serial" bus and will have great performance! Do a search on Google.com for "Serial ATA" HD's. For example -There is, actually, one avaiable at www.harddrive.com for 135$ Western Digital Serial ATA hard drive 36.7 GB at 10,000rpm!!!!!!!! Even if it's still only a 7200 rpm Serial HD you get -you will still have improved performance over the G4's IDE ATA (shared) bus and a HUGE improvement over your current situation in your G5. Chris
