Default Pro Tools HD10 Question USB MIC?

How is everyone doing tonight I have Pro Tools hd10 running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit Operatting System. i just got a G Track USb microphone I was wondering if I can connect it to pro tools and record with it. I can see the mic in my record and playback setting on my computer. Should i play with it and see if I can get it to work or should take it in and get a normal mic? PLEASE HELP ANY INFO IS GOOD THANK YOU FOR UR TIME

i am guessing you probably cannot record with it unless it happens to have asio drivers. asio for all drivers could possibly make it work, but its a gamble.

getting a "normal" mic would be the safest as long as the interface your using (you never mention it) has mic pre's on it or you have an external mic pre to hook to your interface.

Happy new year bro - and welcome you should be receiving ur door prize in 3-4weeks - pls b patience.

And moving on to the question - I would take it back don't even mess with it

Might work and it might sound good and then you might have problems you never know

Most mics deal with a lot of voltage which is the really the concern that Ive always had with USB mics - There's like 5 V on it that's it

Get a 57 or SM 7B there's tons of great mics out there that won't cost you over $400.

Large diaphragm condenser sound good
