Protools 10 With Windows 8 (Full Version)

Hi People ,


I have windows 8 full version on my pc and I installed Protools 10.2 & 10.3.

But I get the DEA error -9514.

Why is this ? can anyone help me with a solution ?

I have it installed 10 times and run it as administrator but it doesn't help.

Windows 7 works of course fine...

No the Windows 8 that i have is a full version from my college.

I use Windows 8 64 Bit Professional

Microsoft says it's still a "preview." Especially since you can get it for free right here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/download

Either way, Pro Tools is not yet qualified to run on Windows 8.

Firstly Windows 8 is not officially released yet. There is only a release preview out.

Secondly don't expect Avid to support Windows 8 for atleast 6 months after the official Windows 8 release.

I would stick wil Windows 7 for now. With the right computer Windows 7 works fine.

I had a second installation of win7 that I used to upgrade to Win 8 with. Pro Tools 10 was already installed and it worked fine on Win 8. It must be the installer that doesn't like 8.

I got an Windows 8 Professional with key from my school , MSDNA
companies gets it first.

its not a preview version !

Believe me I got a full version

Everthing works perfect in windows 8


except Protools 10 (of course)

There is a solution , its stupid but it works !!!



First you install Protools 10 after that, you install protools 9 (no need voor key)

en than you uninstall protools 9



Done !!!


Protools 10 works in windows8 !!
