Default Apogee AD8000 Protools 9 or 10

Has anyone tried an AD8000 via their ambus firewire card with protools 9 or 10? Success?

Thanks!
Chris

They ambus cards are discontinued so they don't support them with new software. Anyhow real world user advice is always better in my opinion.

You can get a brand new Firewire card for like 50 bucks...

Since it is certified for Apples Core Audio Firewire Driver it should in theory work... I also dont see why you couldnt use a regular firewire 400 card with it though as it is just using an adapting cable...

Maybe I am wrong though and you need an apogee firewire card for some reason or anaother

If it were I looking into this I would look into the AES card options and use an AES output to the card....

The questions isn't a firewire card for the computer. It's a firewire card for the AD8000, it used to be made by apogee but they're discontinued now and quite hard to find. Ad8000 converters don't have a stock firewire connection unless you buy the card.

Yeah AES might be the way to go...just thought I'd see if the firewire actually worked well with protools 9/10

Ah,

Those cards are rare... I dont think they made many of them as they were going to lose out on a lot of their other products if they kept making them...

Id look into AES... better off that way regardless....
