help!!! why no spdif input when selected in playback engine???

Ive noticed that switching the playback engine settings from 'ADAT' to 'SPDIF' uses less PCI resources. However , I can only get spdif in when ADAT is selected (& yes, Ive double checked my I/O settings)
Anyone know why selecting SPDIF doesn't allow spdif in??

-There are two different S/PDIF protocols...RCA S/PDIF and Optical S/PDIF (aka: TOSLINK).

-When you select "S/PDIF" as the Optical format (Setups>Playback Engine>Other Options window), it disables the RCA S/PDIF capabilities of the Digi001...this a hardware limitaion (the Optical and RCA S/PDIF ports share the same chip on the Digi001 card). You may, however, use RCA S/PDIF and ADAT Optical protocols at the same time.
