The Satellite system allows you to connect 5 Pro Tools systems and they run as if they were 1. You can even make it so if you solo the rest get muted as if it was one huge system. LE can also be used as a Hi-def Video player with satellite LE. The system is connected via Ethernet to all connected Pro Tools and is easy to setup as far as I was shown. It is almost instant lockup and frame accurate. Goodbye mtc. Seems like a great system to me. Dub stages will love it as well as any studio that requires multiple Pro Tools systems.

So, should I install PT7.4.2 and all plugins on my new Leopard hard drive and uptdate to PT8 later or should I just wait and install PT 8 when it's out?

7.4.2 doesn't work with Tiger, it's a Leopard-release only. 7.4 is the Tiger version.

Yes, you can install 7.4.2 on your Leopard partition and upgrade to 8 when it's out.
