I'm on 10.5.1 and been using Leopard and PT HD since day one.

7.4.1 IS running JUST fine on my G5 Dual 2.3 GHZ.

This far I have not been able to tell the difference 'tween 7.4 and 7.4.1 - besides the fact that PT has NEVER run any smoother than what I have experienced on Leopard.
So, all your plugins are working under 10.5.1 and PT 7.4.1?

So now I want to know: is it possible to install an HD3 Accel PCIe in the new MacPros (I mean, any news regarding compatibility of ALL three PCIe slots with HD Accel PCIe cards)? Thanks !

Yes they are - the only ones causing a disabled foot is waves of course...

SSL bundle works - while only 20% of the Diamond bundle works.. BUt waves will fix it soon, they say

Besides that - Leopard is the Bomb and so is PT running on it...

Would it be anyone's guess that I have hope of running 10.5 and 7.4 on a dual 2.7 G5? Fearing the worst, I've stayed at PT 7.2 and 10.4.6. My concern has been that plugs I'm dependent upon like Waves Platinum & SSL, DUY Global and McDSP will be buggy or worse. You know, it's the fear of loosing productivity to make an upgrade...

Like so many of you I've been using macs since the 80's so I have a feel for their OS. That being said there is something strange about Leopard. (I run it on my home imac) Odd hangups, strange little things that won't work and then suddenly work fine.

I'm a total update whore, but even when PT is given the OK for Leopard I'm still going to wait at least another 6 months.

If you think I'm crazy, go visit the apple forums and just dig around the Leopard threads for a while. Pretty scary.

Just my 2 cents.

I've had the exact opposite experience. Leopard has solved several problems for me and PT runs better than ever. I used to be plagued by the keyboard lockout bug, it's gone. I used to have the stuck menu bug, it's gone. Networking is SOOO much better in Leopard also.

Hey 25ghosts, get with the program . . . 10.5.2 is out . . . big improvements all around.
Please keep up the good work and let us know when it's on your compatibility grid.

WISE WORDS!!!!

Every Mac is different so, be careful and just be patient unless you have time to waste and no project's ahead.
I'm an update junkie as well. Am'I in the right place? Is this the Update OS Junkie Ward?

That's a bit reassuring, thanks. Chances are 10.5.2 will be ok as well. Yea?

And I agree with Drew. Networking on Leopard is fantastic. I've got an old G4 and a PC connected to the Pro. Pretty simple and clean. Gotta love the little CRT monitor that Apple uses for the PC icon too.

No, as stated in the announcement - 10.5.2 is not compatible.
