I have no idea .... All I know that I'm happy with it...
My HD accel rig was old and tired.... I hardly get sessions under 88.2.... It was very difficult to handle those sessions with the old accel systems...even impossible.... 96 voices is hardly enough if you use RTAS and Heat.... Even when keeping the rtas-TDM TDM rtas in mind it was almost impossible....
I don't care about all the dsp plugins I am missing...I still have them in the native version....other then the tc reverbs .... BFD....
I can't see any logical reason why anyone who consider himself a professional wont make the jump in the near future.... I don't know if everyone here has a place where he could actually test drive the HDX... I know I didn't test it , I heard about it allot , and made the math... If I had tested it earlier I would have bought it 6 mounts ago and save my self a hell of an headache ....
My guess : 80% of HD users will make the jump.....nobody likes to stay behind.... And as someone pointed out.... Clients know much more then before.... They ask for the best.... We all know that it doesn't really matter what we use... It is all about our skills.... But more often then not - clients ask me about gear , and I know that having this new standard system counts quite a bit for them.

Someone on the DUC said awhile ago AVID actually changed that policy
Doesnt mean the older interfaces will work in HD11
Doesnt mean they wont either

The first HDX card you buy you also have to buy an Avid interface like Omni, HD IO, etc. After you have that first hurdle taken care of you can buy more HDX cards. I don't think you could ever buy an HDX card without an interface. What Avid did change about that same time was that you couldn't buy an HD Native card without an Avid interface; you used to be able to buy an HD Native card sans interface.

Whether an older interface works with the new cards or not come PT11 doesn't enter into this conversation. You have to buy a new interface with your first HDX card or HD Native card.
