VxD and the Blue Screen
Does anyone get Blue Screens of Death when you shut down your computer? I do, it refers to a VxD problem but the addresses always change. It seems to happen if I've used Windows Media Player. Funny thing is, when I boot back up, my keyboard does not work, I actually have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it working. I don't get the Blue Screen if I just restart, and don't actually shut down. I also notice that when I use Windows Media Player it takes a while to start the file (mp3 or mpeg/avi) with a message saying Media Changing.
I have a Gateway PIII 750 with 256 RAM and Win98 SE. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Adam

Re: VxD and the Blue Screen
Those warnings usually refer to system files which have beem moved or corrupted. It could be the result of so many different things, trying to isolate it would be mind-boggling.
What I would do (short of a n OS re-install) is first run a thorough 'scandisk' on your drive, this may help but scandisk can be fickle. Follow that with defrag. If the problem persists, then, go big. Backup all your stuff, format and re-install. It does the body good. pk
