USB 1.1 or 2.0
Looking for a new USB interface. I know PT 10 supports a couple of USB 1.1 interfaces eg. MBox mini but should I go for USB 2.0?

Re: USB 1.1 or 2.0
USB2 will most likely take advantage of more I/Os. Or higher sample rates. But if a USB1 interface has all the features you need, then go for it.

Re: USB 1.1 or 2.0
USB 1.1 is older technology and substantially slower transfer rate. I would recommend USB 2.0. This will likely give you fewer issues. Google it to see the differences.

Re: USB 1.1 or 2.0
Recording 2 tracks at a time so no real issue with speed. More worried that
USB 1.1 interfaces will not be supported in the near future. |

Re: USB 1.1 or 2.0
A friend and I both use Pro Tools 9, I with an Audiophile 192 and he was using an M-Audio Fast Track Pro. He has always had more problems than I. After he bought a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 (3rd party product no less), his problems lessened. Now this is USB 1.1 vs. Firewire, but it makes me never want to buy anything that doesn't have USB 2 as a system requirement.
Take that as you will. |
