Default Acoustics question

Hi,

I'm currently in college and have been given the task to investigate the subject of acoustics in a post production environment. Can anyone offer some
guidelines relating specifically to designing a room for post or point specific
acoustic issues that might arise in a post environment as opposed to a typical
music studio. I'm sure surround sound throws up some issues that require a different approach, and dolby standards also.

Any help appreciated!

Google will be your friend here And check the Real Traps site for more info. There's a ton of it floating around.

I'd recommend "Recording Studio Design" by Philip Newell. It has a chapter (21) on that subject specifically.

And of course the dolby documents for room design and certification.

You can also check out THIS THREAD where I published pictures I took during the construction of my dubbing stage. The studio is designed by Philip and Joules Newell.
