Mixing perpetual and subscription licenses

I've not found a clear answer to this in the FAQs etc.

I have a PT perpetual license that expired on 2020.12, and I have an unused reinstatement code, that I want to keep unused for now.

I want to try the PT beta. I'm ready to install the beta, after having renamed the 2020.12 to have them both at once. Can I just buy a 1 year subscription, and use iLok manager to place either one on my iLok to switch between the two?

Like many before me, I'm not sure I'm clear about what I see in my account/upgrade:

When I select subscription, the "get current" part is gone, but it still says "Move to a subscription…", so it looks like I'm surrendering my perpetual license…

I guess if I buy it from a reseller and redeem it on avid.com, I'll achieve my goal; to have one perpetual and one sub, on my avid account.

Just checking. I don't want to screw anything up. people have been fooled by this before.

So simple. I just go to the regular avid.com shop and shop a subscription. Even a month-by-month thing like I had hoped. and I expect my ilok mnager to show both perp and sub… just a second…

Yep. I have both the subscription and my expired perpetual intact.

Pretty petty that I have to jump thru hoops. I can't do this just by using my avid account.
