Nothing that's currently on the market via an Apple store etc., but there's tons of old G4 towers on ebay that will work with a Digi 001.

You can also find Certified Pre-owned Macs (G4/G5) at www.powermax.com

They'll warrant that they work correctly.

I don't work for them, they've just treated me well.

There should be a compatibility list on the digi site...probably under legacy items.

Yep, but I'm not sure if the G5 towers can handle the old 001 PCI card. The G4 models are all compatible that's for sure.

I think there are two revisions of the G5 tower. The older support the traditional PCI slot, and the newer have moved to the newer PCIe slot. I think the traditional PCI slot has now been discontinued by most major manufacturers, which is why you won't see it in the new Mac Pro line.

The 001 will not work with any version of the G5 tower as there is a different voltage in the PCI bus, even for the early models. It's G4 towers only for the 001 (unless you want to go for an even older G3 tower )

Yes, the 1st & 2nd rev G5s on the "low/cheap end" had PCI slots & someone got them working with MIX TDM cards (which are 3.3 volt) but it was riddled with DAE errors according to some posts. The DIGI 001 is a 5 volt card & won't work.

Find a cheap used G4. You can upgrade it to a DUAL 1.8 Sonnet G4 CPU for $549. Or cheap out and get a single 1.6 CPU upgrade for $229.
