DIGITECH: Still Losing Connection!
I have already had one power harness replacement. I am so tired of fighting with my interface just to be able to use it!
System Specs: Dual 1.25 G4 2 Gb RAM PT 6.4 OS 10.3.2 Pro Tools will NEVER launch the first time. It will always tell me that the hardware is either not installed or in use by another program. SOMETIMES if I reboot the 002R and then click ok on the error message, PT will launch. Usually not though. I've found that USUALLY if I switch firewire ports on the computer before I click OK on the error message PT will launch. The connection will last a few minutes and then be lost. The problem is that there is NO constant. NOTHING I do works EVERY time, so there's no way to count on being able to book sessions! I'm so sick of this! I don't know anybody who has a 002R or I would test theirs out on my system. Maybe if someone lives in the Dallas area they could respond to this message. I clock PT to a Focusrite Octopre. It makes no difference if I use the internal clack. I've tried different firewire cables. I bought a PCI firewire card with no luck. Please, please, PLEASE DigiTech respond to this with something helpful to get me up an running again! I shouldn't have to fight your hardware every time I want to use it! Kyle

Re: DIGITECH: Still Losing Connection!
In what order are you turning on the computer and the 002? Is the 002 on when you turn on the computer, or do you turn it on afterward?
Have you tried all the steps in the OS X Setup and General Troubleshooting thread? You didn't mention it, so I have to ask... Do you have the Digidesign Core Audio driver installed? If so, try moving it out of the folder located at MacHD>Library>Audio>Plugins>HAL, restart your computer and try everything again - does Pro Tools now launch on the first try? |

Re: DIGITECH: Still Losing Connection!
Yes, the CoreAudio driver is installed, and yes, I have been through troubleshooting steps posted here. Also, it does not seem to matter whether the 002R is powered on before or after the computer. However, the computer takes longer to boot when the 002R is powered on first.
What order do you recommend booting? Kyle FYI: I record to seperate internal drives. The only things plugged into my computer are the 002R, an iLok key, and the stock apple USB mouse. Removing the iLok key does not seem to affect the launching of PT. Kyle

Re: DIGITECH: Still Losing Connection!
Kyle,
I don't know if this helps your case but we have an 002r that acts differently depending on which of the 2 Firewire ports on the 002r is connected to the computer. It's in a rack so I'm not sure which port it likes, but if we use the wrong one (not that there should be a right and wrong) the 002r acts strange on boots and will also loose connection. If we us the correct one it never misses a beat. I hope I was somewhat clear on what I was saying. |
