Tempo window has wrong values
Hello! I expect this is an easy fix, but I have been unable to figure it out.
I'm actually running Pro Tools 2018, but have had no answers there and am hoping to get some help here. Per the screen shot, although my session is set at 90 bpm and plays back as such, the tempo line is way down around 20.5 bpm. Shouldn't they match? This becomes a problem when I try to draw in tempo changes. What setting am I missing here? |

Re: Tempo window has wrong values
Edit: if I drag the border up and down to re-size the tempo operations window, the line actually changes...it seems to be relative to the size of the window instead of staying steady on the tempo I have specified.
Playback still doesn't change at all, but the tempo line is inaccurate. Help? |

Re: Tempo window has wrong values
Hi,
Do you have the conductor selected in the transport window?

Re: Tempo window has wrong values
I do, yes...I tried unselecting it as an experiment, but then it just disabled my pencil tool in the tempo window altogether so I couldn't make any changes.

Re: Tempo window has wrong values
Tempo changes only affect tick based tracks. If all of your tracks are sample based, nothing will happen when you change the tempo.

Re: Tempo window has wrong values
Thanks for the reply, but that's not actually the problem. I can make tempo changes just fine, but the line in the tempo window is inaccurate compared to the bpm. It doesn't actually matter whether I have tracks open or not -- I'm just inputting changes in the tempo window in an empty session and I still have the problem.
Looks like I will be reinstalling...AGAIN... |

Re: Tempo window has wrong values
I know this doesn't help much, but I've never seen this before. Does a new session do it? If you import the data from the offending session into a new session does it do it? Is it just one session? Perhaps if you posted the offending session we might be able to check it?

Re: Tempo window has wrong values
Believe it or not, Rich, that reply does help me as it tells me it's a weird problem and not just a setting I'm missing!
It was doing the same thing in any new session I tried for a while, but now that I've reinstalled, it seems to have just randomly gone away. Still not sure what that was all about, but it seems it was more of an installation error than anything else. If it happens again, I will be back. I appreciate everyone's help. |
