Default Problem installing ASIO driver

I'm running an athlon64 3000+ on an asus a8n sli board, windows xp, 80gb sata hd (not running raid). I recently was given a used digi001 by my brother. I downloaded the ASIO driver, however, when I try to install the driver it freezes up. I've tried the dep fix, rolling back to sp1 and it still freezes everytime I try to install. Any help in getting this driver installed would be appreciated.

Jerry

Make sure you're installing the correct driver - for some versions of PT you need to use the ASIO driver that's included in the update, and not the standalone.

Hope that helps.

All I have right now is what I can download from digidesign, at least until my brother can find what he did with the cd that came with the digi001. I've been using sonar in the past and I'm just trying to get the digi001 to run with that, since I already own it. If he ever tracks down the cd I'll be happy, and probably won't have near the problems I'm having trying to get it set up right now, but knowing my brother I'm not holding my breath. What I tried installing is the ASIO driver that I downloaded from the website, digidesign ASIO driver 6.1.1 for windows xp. If I need the PT software, I don't mind buying it, I just thought I'd try to get it setup with what I've already got to save a little money.
