No Sound using Realtek High Definiton Audio
Hello everyone,
so I have recently installed my version of Pro Tools 12.5. Now I want to simply playback some mp3 track in order to check the output sound and THERE IS NOT ANY SOUND WHATSOEVER. 1) I go to Setup > Playback Engine and choose "Realtek High Definiton audio" which is the only choice anyway 2) I would want to select Speakers ("Realtek High Definiton Audio") as the output device and then select OK 3) Even if I chose "Speakers" as the Output Device It would automatically switch back to the default Output Device which is "Realtek Digital Output". Why the Playback engine sets the Output to the original setting even after selecting and confirming "Speakers" by clicking on OK? Check out the screen attached. I am using Windows 10 with Realtek High Definiton Audio Driver. Should I simply unnistall the default audio driver in order to make Pro Tools work? Thank you for your answers, Andre |

Re: No Sound using Realtek High Definiton Audio
Pro Tools requires ASIO to function. If you don't have an ASIO audio interface such as an Mbox, etc, you will have to download and install Asio4all.
