Default Battery 3 problem with PT 8

We have 2 machines at work one is HD dual proc NOT an intel proc and battery works fine on the pt 7 boot but on 8 it will play for about 30 sec then start skipping for 10 sec like a CD skip then stop. PT 8 is pretty much unusable on this machine. On our other machine its M-powered and a quad intel proc and it seems to work a little better but drums will stop triggering for a few sec at a time in random places but no skipping. Anyone have a solution for this i find it hard to believe digi and native instruments have not addressed this problem. Thanks!!!

Hi,

There are issues with PT and NI. have you tried reducing your rtas processors by one? they need to be set to an odd amount!! 1/3/5/7 this helps the rtas playback stability.

I'm on a PPC DP 2.7 Pt's8cs2 OS 10.5.7.
Battery 3 only became usable after I install the Kontakt Beta 3.5 (Need Kontakt 3)
What ever they changed (New Sample engine) for Kontakt now allows Battery 3 to work well in Pro Tools 8.
They(NI) are sooooo Sloooow to address their products. But, there is some light.

If you have K3, give it a whirl.

This is really interesting. Can anyone else confirm this? I threw out Kontakt2 a while ago but actually would love to be able to use Battery3 more. If it really helps, Iดd upgrade to K3.

Hello,

You won't have to upgrade Kontakt if you don't want as Battery is getting its own upgrade...
