[SANDHILL CRANES: KNOBS, FADERS & JOYSTICKS]
This one should be fun. I wanted to experiment and show how to take advantage of Knobs, Faders and Joysticks for various types of parameters when working on a sound design. For this example, we look at placing sound sources within Dolby Atmos space, adding effects, and leveraging folders, spill zones and master module functions to work efficiently and in context - with multiple controls at once. The sound examples are re-recorded from the Binaural output of the Dolby Renderer - so if you want to hear the correct placement you should put on headphones. [EDIT & MIX WINDOW FOLLOWS PREFS]
Let's take a brief look at a few micro features that were added to Pro Tools 2022.9 + EUCON 2022.9. In Pro Tools under Setup > Preferences > Mixing > Controllers > you will find the following: Edit Window Follows: Banking, Select Mix Window Follows: Banking, Select These options now give you the granularity to determine whether you want the Pro Tools Edit + Mix Windows to respond to Banking functions from the console and also track Selection when performed from the desk. Track Selection can be super useful to quickly orient the Pro Tools Edit Window to jump to a chunk of tracks - either from standard Banking, spilled VCA's or Folders or from Track Layouts. Check it out. Edit & Mix Window Follows Jeff |
