New Lynx Hilo converter/interface - interesting product

This looks like a great solution that could be helpful for various types of setups.

It's a new 2 channel ad/da converter from Lynx, a complete redesign with better specs than the Auroras. It will function as a standalone converter with basic monitor control and headphones, and will also function as an interface, allowing up to 12 channels in and 16 out using the digital i/o options. This can be expanded to 32 channels using separate expansion card.

As an interface, it comes included with the Lynx USB card, ideal for any native setup.

It says in the video that it can use any Lynx card in the slot, so I assume that may include the Lynx HD card interface, allowing you to hook it up directly to a Protools HD card as well (not totally sure about that).

And finally a really cool LCD touchscreen on the front that handles most functions.

MSRP is $2495, so street price should be somewhat less.

It's supposed to be out in the second half of 2011.

It's unclear whether this is a replacement for the Auroras or if they're being discontinued.
