HD Sync Firmware update fails

Dear,

After hours of testing I thought it might be better to post my problem here...

I'm currently running a HD3 on Mac OS 10.6.4 with Pro Tools 8.04 installed. I was able to purchase a second hand HD Sync which works properly but it still has the older firmware on it. When I load protools I get the message that I have to load a newer version of the firmware via the DigiTest Utility (V8.03).

So that's what I tried and every time I Begin the Update it keeps saying that it could not establish the connection with the HD Sync. Its also a brand new cable so nothing is wrong on that side too...

The funny thing is that ProTools detects that the wrong firmware is installed but the Digitest Utility cannot even connect...

I hope someone experienced this before or someone might have a possible solution....

You could try to connect the SYNC to the second card and see if the firmware process will
run as it should

Make sure DigiTest is set to talk to the SYNC HD rather than the SYNC.

I believe there is a popup menu for this in the update SYNC firmware pane.
