Default Is there a way to see how I quantized a midi region?

Edit: Avid responded and told me that in fact, what I am asking doesn't exist. I suggested they write some code that embeds the quantize information with the midi region so you can go back and see what you did.

What I'm asking is if there is a way to click on a region or grab a group of notes and see how I quantized it. I use the logic grooves and swing etc and play around with the parameters. But then I can't seem to be able to go back later and see exactly what I did. Or am I just missing how to do that?

Please take a minute to understand what I"m asking before responding. I've yet to get a response that actually addresses my question.

I'll give you an example. 'I create a midi drum loop. I tweak the groove using logic groove b, i play with the swing and strength until i get it how i like it and then I apply it. A month later, I want to tweak it a bit, or maybe see what I did. It doesn't really matter why. But i want to be able to click on the midi region and see exactly what parameters I applied to that region. I want it to tell me that I used logic groove b with x swing and y strength etc etc.'

Copy the track. Quantize the copy. Compare to original.

... though it would be nice to see the results of quantize before you commit to it. But that would be a feature request.

You can do that with MIDI Real-Time Properties. Just keep the Real-Time Properties window open, choose what you wnat to do to the clips (or tracks) and do NOT Write the changes until you are sure you wnat to commit them.

Play around with it and you'll see.

that's not what i asked though. I didn't ask how i can change what i'm doing. I asked to see the specific data. what groove, how much swing etc. I want to know the exact paramters.

thanks, but can i go back LATER and see what I did? Will it tell me, for example, what groove template i used, how much swing, note strength etc? That's what I"m looking for. I'm pretty stunned i can't do this.

There are many ways to do it. Many find it easier to do it like in Ableton Live, but I do so little MIDI that personally I have never been so worried about so called limitations of PT implementation of MIDI -- especially now that every DAW need to implement the 2.0 version in the coming years.

"There are many ways to do it'

Great, can you tell me at least one way to go back later and see what parameters I quantized with? IN pro tools, since this is a pro tools forum.

I do it with tempo map as most of my stuff are live recordings on a single take.
