That's the way I understand it.

With 7.4 and higher they were multi-client, but that did not include Pro Tools. If Pro Tools was running, it had exclusive use of the hardware, but you could run multiple apps through the hardware if Pro Tools wasn't launched.

With the new beta drivers, they're fully multi-client, including Pro Tools.

002 and 003's have always been single-client, but the new beta drivers give them multi-client capabilities.
As a related question.... Do I have to buy pro tools 8 in order to get this most recent driver that is compatible with W7? I have a digi 002 and I only want to use it at this point to play my edrums through some vst drum samplers (addictive, SD2). The last upgrade I got was up to 7.4. It'd be a shame to shell out the cash just for the driver as I don't need PT for the time being. Any other solution, or do I have to buy PT8 to use digi 002 with W7 now?

Does anyone know if this new beta driver (cs04?)would work with 8.0.3cs2 on a vista machine?

AFAIK, the new BETA drivers are only for Win 7. Will there be OSX Leopard/Snow Leopard drivers offering multi client capability anytime soon?
