Is this the current version of the software?

What in brief does this allow you the ability to do? Been somewhat confused on the difference between the sound code and the ltrt tools.

1)Soundcode for Dolby Digital does Dolby digital AC3 compression, which is more or less standard for multichannel audio on DVD and Bluray discs. The plug in lets you encode and decode AC files - which is very handy for QC. AC3 is actualy a coded, not just a phase method of getting surround encoded - so needs a codec to be played back (DVD/Bluray player). Dont confuse AC3 with Dolby E - which is used to encode 5.1 into a bitstream that ca n be put on a stereo track on HDCAM/SR etc digital video tape recorders

2)LtRt tools only folds the 5.1 mix into a stereo encoded wav file - which will be compatible with Dolby Pro Logic decoders. It is handy for down mixing 5.1 to Stereo/mono (L0R0 surrounds not encoded/phased into the stereo file) as well, but Protools has that capabilities integrated with the Downmixer plug in. The LtRt file is normal stereo compatible so it can play back in stereo on a plyer that does not have a (Pro logic) decoder.
