Default Command8 rotary resolution?

If I'm using the EQ or other plug-ins of my M-Powered Software controlled by the Command8 there is a problem:

I use the rotary knobs to control the eq, but the resolution of the knobs is very low. If I turn right the knob then the gain steps from 0.7db to 1.3db. Every step of this knob has got a resolution of 0.6 or 0.7db.

If I flip them to the faders the resolution is 0.1db.

Is there an error or can it be adjusted in the Command8? I use the firmware 02.00.00 and Bootloader 1.0.

You can put the encoders in FINE mode for more precise adjustments.

Ok, but how do I do that?
In ProTools or in the command8?

Or is it decribed in the manual?

You could use a bit of tape on your command button

Nah on a serious note, I don't think you can lock it.

Thanks for your advices.

Yesterday I bought a Digi003. I bought them in the US. I think it may last up to two weeks if item will be arrived.
Now the command8 is for sale.

Not sure how that improves what you originally posted about but you will pick up some added functions with the 003.

The problem has not solved completely, because it is much convenient for me to use the control button and the rotary at the same time. I have to use both hands on the command8.

If you use an analogue mixing desk you can use one hand and you've got a higher resolution.

Ok, the command8 can flip the rotaries to the faders. This method is unusual, but it works.

I don't bought the 003 to solve my problem. I bought them, because it was very cheap in comparision to the price in Germany. It gives me more flexibility in mobile recording.
