Default External ADC set up with Mbox Pro 3

I want to hook up my Mytek 192 ADC and bypass the Mbox Pro 3 ADC.
Is it possible?

Also thinking about getting a MOTU 828mk3 as a interface only (no pre's or ADC needed)

Thanks

You can definitely use the Mytek that way, you just have to set the Mbox Pro to receive clocking from the Mytek (anytime you're using the spidf on the Mbox Pro, it must be clocked from the external unit through spidf).

As to the second question, I don't understand what you're asking. I can tell you that the a/d conversion on the Motu won't be as good as the Mbox Pro or the Mytek.

The MOTU 828mk3 Just because it's rack mountable, it would serve just as a interface (DAC) only as would the Mbox, but I think the Mbox is easier to use.

I was just thinking out loud.

Is there a way to do 192 ADC on the Mytec and 96 DAC out of the Mbox I ask because I could then use a Mbox 3 4x4 in that set up if it takes a 192 a/d but the Avid asio mixer for the 4x4 only shows 96 a/d or is that bypassed and irrelevant once I plug in the Mytec and would a 4x4 would actually do 192 but just not show it?

Thanks
