Default Video in 7.3 ???

I do not have the DV tool kit and I was able to import video into my session.

Does this mean I can do full movie scoring in PT LE now?
It would be great if I did not have to go to Logic for that.

What extra advantages does the toolkit have?
SMPTE ?

Hello. The big improvements in 7.2 for TDM which made their way into 7.3 LE are strictly reserved for the DV Toolkit owners. Things like multiple video tracks, video editing, video grouping, etc.

That's the main one. Froyo listed some of the others.

Thanks...

I would guess DV Tool kit has big advantages.
However, with the new video import function,
I could compose music for a movie, or a jingle at home,
Then goto my TDM studio and add them over the movie at the studio.

I was not able to do this before.
I had to use logic just because of that.
So this is a big deal for me.

Thanks Digi...

It's not a new function, video import has been available for a long time. You could've been doing this ages ago, but better late than never I guess.

So, we had a video track option with thumbnails before?
I do not remember seeing this import video option before.
Did we have this even with Digi001?

I guess you're right.
Better late than never.

Paul White did an article about my recording in SOS magazine (September 2006 issue).
He uses logic, so I was curious where it was these days.
Even though I am an ex-Logic user since version 3.x, I had stopped using Logic after Apple purchase.
After the Article, I got curious about it again and started using it a lot.
Especially, because of its deep score capabilities.

Now that I am aware I could do video with PT LE, and with the new Sibelius support,
I may just use PT LE for all my needs.
My projects are usually smaller than 32 tracks and I could always use my HD rig at the studio.
If I stay home, I have more time to play with my 16 month old son.
When I take a break I mean.

""and with the new Sibelius support,""

don't get to pumped about this....it simply means that PTools is making & sending an SMF to Sibelius...something that it's been able to do (make an SMF) for a long time now.

It looked like there was a bit more to it, but I may be wrong.
The way I understood it was that I could keep both programs open and keep sending the changes to sibelius.
So, I was thinking they might even improve this further to get sibelius to work almost like a score plugin.
