Default Direct Connect and MIDI window sizing bug

I have not upgraded from 5.1.1 yet and am curious if Digidesign included direct connect and if they fixed the MIDI window sizing bug in the older version yet. Other than 32 tracks, what is different? The .pdf really doesn't give this detail and my search comes up lame.

Thanks,

Jaleo

Yes, the "MIDI window sizing" bug is fixed in 5.3.1. Also, there's a beta version of DirectConnect available with 5.3.1, but there are no Windows applications which take advantage of it yet.

I'm not sure if it will be on the free 5.3.1 updater CDs that will be available from dealers in the next couple of weeks. Those may just have the same installer application as the web update. I'll check when they are finished. (don't have access to the spec list for those CDs at the moment) The updater CDs may have both the TDM and LE versions of 5.3.1 for Windows, so the DirectConnect beta may not be on there to save space. But it may very well be on those CDs, I just don't know as we haven't seen them yet in CS.

The DirectConnect beta will definitely be on the PTLE Win 5.3.1 CDs (located in the Beta folder for future installation) that will be included in Digi 001 packaging beginning in the next couple of weeks, and we will eventually make it available for download in the Support/Downloads/ section once there are DirectConnect Windows applications. There was no reason to include it with the 5.3.1 update downloads, since there are no applications to use with it yet. (that's also why you aren't seeing any posts saying "I can't get this DirectConnect plug-in thingy to work")

Off topic.Hi Eric, I've posted some issues I have with XP, it will not record anything, but I'm wondering If it has to do with the fact that I'm using a rack mount with a 3PCI riser card. Everything is installed but when you record enable a track there is no signal registering. I have two threads about it under Mocha, but no one can help me, maybe you can. Sorry for barging into another threads.
