Default FW Hard Drive not Recognized

Hello, All!! So last nite, I Plugged in my new Fire Wire DVD-RW external burner. Pulled up Toast Titanium, and Toast recognized it just fine. Then I dragged a folder from my Fire Wire External Hard Drive (7200rpm Oxford 911 Seagate(I think)) to do a test burn of about 2gig. The lead-in wrote just fine but the burn froze about one minute into the burn. Now my G4 733, 512mb ram, OS 9.2 does not recognize the drive. When I reboot a dilog box pops up saying "Disk is unreadable by this computer. Do you want to initialize?" It gives me the choice of ejeting or initializing.

Anyone know of a work-around on this?? most all of the info is backed up elsewhere, this just caught me off guard.

Thanx for any tips, Esteban.

Live (with a dead drive) in Texas!!

1. if you don't have diskwarrior, get diskwarrior

2. launch diskwarrior

3. once diskwarrior is running, plug in your firewire hard drive (this allows diskwarrior to supercede that "do you want me to initialize" finder message)

4. diskwarrior fixes your disk, you feel joy.

Right-e-o there, Mate, I vave an older version of Disk Warrior. If that dosen't work, I'll try a newer version.

Thanks a million.
