Fine (fader) Resolution on Motor Mix

Does anyone know why the Motor Mix does not adjujst to fine fader resolution when the appropriate modifier key is pressed as will a HUI or even a mouse?
If this is yet another attempt on Digi's part towards price-fixing I think that sucks. If anyone knows how to do this - please tell me!
