Editor GUI disappeared???

Suddenly my Stand Alone Editor window won't show. I can see it start, and finding my 11R (fetching patch info). Then the GUI disappear.

I can see the editor on the task bar, can close it, but can't get the editior GUI to show.

Has been working on the same pc for "months/years". Stopped working a couple of days ago.

PS. Windows 8.1, everything running with admin rights.

Have anyone else had this coming? Anyone with a solution?

I have re-installed the 11R drivers, and the editior itself. Still no go. Hmmm

This unfortunately is a known issue with the editor window. No one knows why, but the window moves off of the screen, where you can't see it. This is why the taskbar shows it is running, although you can not see it.

Take a look at the last couple pages of This Thread, which has a few solutions to the problem.

My first/next move were to remove the Editor's preferences. Not at my studio right now, but will do the Registry change/fix (no problems there ;-))

Thanks again.
Now we only have to wait about 5 years for Avid to fix/update the Stand Alone Editor.

Fixed!

I just deleted the Eleven Rack Editor preference file. Then I restarted the Editor, placed it were I wanted it on the screen. Then.....

.... Then I also took a copy of the new preference file, so that the next time (if it happen) I can only copy it back, overwriting the "corrupt" one.
