Hello Everyone,
I am about to purchase an 001 but I am interested in knowing how the 001 deals with previously recorded SDII files? I understand that due to SDII's 16 bit limitation that Digi abandoned it for some other file format that will accomodate 24 bits. So what if I have lots of CD sound files in SDII format will it open them? Are they compatible? Is there some sort of file transfer protocol, ie. from AIFF to SDII for example? What is format does the 001 use? Thanks Rutles |

First off, SDII is capable of 24 bit. I believe protools le still uses the SDII file format. I have had few problem running my old protools 16 bit files on the LE system, so I really doubt you'll have any problem importing your SDII 16 bit files into LE. You will likely have to create a 16 bit session. Perhaps you'll want to save as a 24 bit session after you have imported so you can add tracks in 24 bit.
