Default Maybe another typo, PT compatibility a bit vague

On page 9 of the v3 upgrade doc it states PT10 or higher is required to use the 32 track fax record feature. It the goes on to say PT8.x and lower will be limited to 18 channels. Well wouldn't you know it, I own PT9. My console is currently in use in a show that I am not mixing but I am hoping to use the 32 record on a show next week. Will it work on my version 9?

Thanks

Steve

If you search the forum, you'll find some folks that have successfully used PT9 for FWx 32 track recording. That said, why not just spend the $299 for the upgrade to PT10 and make sure you're using a supported configuration?

Because it seems like I just purchased 9 not too long ago. If 10 were a real 64 bit app I wouldn't hesitate. I just don't see what I'm getting for my $299

Thanks for the tip on 9, I will look into it.

Sorry if I came off snide about 10 but there is really nothing in the upgrade worth it for me to buy so soon after 9. If rumors are true that 11 makes all my hardware incompatible, I will seriously consider other software. While things like 003 may be expendable, 192 I/O's in the company's HD3 rig are not.

Hi,
I asked this on a previous thread and the response waht the PT9 was not tested or certified for use with the FX32. But some have got it to sort of work though I am not sure how reliably.

9 is not supported. It was not tested. I know people that do use it w/ FW32. VENUE Link does not work in 9 as 9 does not know what this new "interface" is.
