Microphones

I am using protools le 6.9 and I want to know which microphone is best for vocals of hip hop r&b and mostly mainly anything. The ntk by rode and the st66 by groovetubes but is now called sterling i guess.But im looking for clarity, warmth, and something thats pretty much versitile on anything vocals that is.

I recently bought the AKG Perception 200,

man, this one beats the Rode NT1(a) by miles AND challenges the
NT2000 (nearly 3 times more expensive).
With a clear open sound and suitable for versatile tasks.
And is comparatively priceless.

thanks but that mic is a bit pricey im tryin to stay in a certain price range but anyone heard of that groovetubes mic

HI,

I´d rather don´t buy a tube mic in the lower price range, unless you want to use it as effect microphone.

On the other hand tupe mics are much less versatile than condensers mics, due to their
predetermined coloration. If this is of concern to you.

Id rather get a condensor mic now and a good tube pre later.
