External drives keep dismounting

I have three external NVMe drives and a micro SD plugged into the side port on my 2015 rMBP, with Mojave every one of those drives disconnected or gave a warning of drive not being properly ejected upon resume from sleep but with a clean install of Monterey all appears well with the world in that regard. Figure?

Monterey has been a PITA for me. On my third clean install. Multiple niggling issues, periodic beachballs at times, got a handle on some stuff, not others. It's not been a great macOS release of me on a recent Intel MBP.

We are talking about Pro Tools specific -9013 errors and not just macOS's "drive not being properly ejected" right?

I've only experienced -9013 errors (file or drive missing).

Unfortunately I had a couple of more -9013s happen since I updated to macOS 12.6 and TB/USB 4 drives.

I also check Disc Allocation before going on with a session, which is wise I've learned (the hard way).

I've noticed that I get these errors when I'm working on VI heavy sessions (10 or more instances of VIs, Kontakt etc).

I don't remember having these -9013 errors in the past 20 years, maybe just a few of them?

I'm still getting -9013 errors, fewer than on 12.5.1 and 2022.6 but still there.

I currently have:

macOS 12.6
PT 2022.7
TB/USB 4 NVMe drives.

What about you guys??

No, my original post was about drives randomly ejecting just from copying files.

Problem solved. Attached a owc dock to the mac studio. The addition of ports is nice and the mac studio does not have to think what is hooked to it

That's good news. Which dock did you end up with? I've managed to get by with the included ports but they're all taken now so the next step would (probably) be a dock.

No problem with drives ejecting yet. Sonnet Echo Dual NVMe. But they're Thunderbolt. USB2 drives / trackball etc are cantankerous, though. Had to get a Bluetooth track ball to get anything done. All plugged into the back of Mac Studio
