Beyond the great advice already given, if you collaborate with mostly one person(vs with dozens), it might be worth a conversation about it. Example: I share sessions with 1 person a lot(probably 90% of my shared work is with this one person) so we came up with a session template that we both work from. We went so far as to name certain IO to match on 2 very different systems(he ran an Mbox 2 Pro and I ran HD/Native with 32 IO). He renamed his 2 mic inputs to match 2 of mine and we matched the names of our main outputs. This way, a session opens fine on either setup, the user just has to click to ignore the missing paths. Its nice getting a session file from him that opens almost exactly as I would use anyway
