Default Sonic TimeWorks plugin bundle...

I bought the Sonic TimeWorks bundle out of curiousity last week - and here are some reflections:

* it is RTAS only - no AS/Audiosuite.
* no installation problems on the Win98 - not tested on the XP, but is supposed to work (their own statement). Trash DAE folder and IO folder and it's all there...
* samplerates up til 192 kHz.
* no presets yet, but on the way.
* when you come to second page of the ONLINESTORE they charge 299:- USD and not 349:- USD as it says on page one.

ReverbX comes with 5 algorithms (The DirectX version has 8 algorithms, but the last 3 were not rtas compatible). As goes for the red skin of the DirextX version - RTAS is grey.

...any one else got it?

I'd like to know what the CPU useage figures are like with these plug ins compared to Waves, BF and Digirack stuff... oh, and how it sounds too of course!

I haven't really used them yet, just opened up old sessions and put them in and my immidiate impression is that the Compressor sounds awesome, the ReverbX is a step up from D-verb (the 5 algorithms aren't diverse enough, sounds toomuch alike) and the last one I haven't found any use for yet (but it sort of tagged along for 50 bucks...).

CPU-usage is fairly high, wich makes it troublesome that there is no AS version. With ReverbX you can't use the workaround to just wet a second track 100%, but have to bounce and import.

Soundwise, my first impression is that they sound a bit different - and different is good as a supplement to Waves, Digirack and BF.

However they should change their Demo at once (- works for 20 s, then shut down and then works again etc - plain irritating). You download a sharp version to replace the Demo (your respons goes to the sharp version and not on the Demo).

Hope I have answered some questions of interrest?

They don't seem to be selling many of this one...

If we want more plug-ins - and I for shure am one, we need to show some interrest from the PC RTAS community. Now we have Waves, BF, Antares (coming soon) and Sonic TimeWorks. T-Racks have said that they be out sometime september and then there is Focusrite wich is so expensive that almoast noone can by it... Did I miss anyone? Ya, right the Digidesign stuff, but that's pretty much it... Now with XP for LE and HD, lets hope that the ball starts rolling....

I've used the DirectX version of these plugs inside of Sound Forge for a while. i also did the same with Waves 3.0 until recently when i got a hold of 3.2. i'm glad they have Timeworks has put out RTAS. from what i've done, i usually ended up favoring the Timeworks comp over the stock C1 comp. just sounded better to me, and the controls seemed more like the real world. didn't really use any of the others. i too am curious about CPU usage.
